A red heart found on specific menu items denotes a healthier choice, which means that the menu item has been prepared using a healthier style of cooking such as baked, broiled, grilled or steamed. All the menu items that have been designated as healthier choices as part of the Just Ask Us! program can be found on the Menu on the Run website in the healthier choices tab for each participating restaurant.

| Healthy Dining and Children |
 |
More and more Rockland county families are eating meals outside their homes. Children’s menus typically offer little variety, are calorie rich and low in nutrients.. A small order of french fries and fried chicken nuggets contains approximately 450 calories and 3 teaspoons of salt, with little nutritional value; not the best choice for growing children.
In response to many resident requests about healthier menu items for children, several restaurants are offering a new kid’s menu. These complete meals are tasty and fun and offer parents worry free dining.
